Planning Transitions to Meet Challenging Behavior

Transitions can be fun and successful times for children and teachers, or they can be challenging. This course provides teachers with strategies to put into place to help children transition more easily. Children’s challenging behavior during transition time may be related to how program staff structure, schedule and implement transitions. The goal of this course is to provider teacher of young children with tools that focus on four concepts:
(1) Scheduling ideas that minimizes transitions and maximizes the time children spend engaged in developmentally appropriate behaviors, (2) A plan for success, (3) Daily transitional steps and (4) Individualized transitional strategies. This is an article based course, no books are required.
